Odisha boy Avilash Mishra lived up to his top billing by clinching a title double in the AITA-OTA Talent Series U-16 Tennis Tournament, which concluded here at Puri Club today. A trainee of Bhubaneswar-based S S Tennis Academy, Mishra won the boys` singles crown, defeating Arjun Patnaik of Andhra Pradesh in the final 6-4, 6-4. The Odisha-AP duo later pocketed the doubles title, edging out Assam-West Bengal pair of Ankeet Kasyap and Ritwik Chatterjee 4-6, 6-0, 10-5 in the final, which was decided via super tie-break.
The girls` singles title was claimed by Mahesh Bhupathi Academy trainee Shilpi Swarupa Das, who overcame her Odisha statemate Koyal Mishra in the hard-fought final 4-6, 6-3, 7-5.
